About the Artist

Hello! my name's Bea (any pronouns are welcome) and this is my Net Art Website. I am currently a senior in college getting my bachellors in fine art, and I'm planning to continue making art after graduation through any means necessary. I dabble in all kinds of art. That's not an exaggeration, I do mixed media sculpture, printmaking, textiles, digital painting, comics, videography, and now Net Art! My interest lies more in exploring the history and community within art practices, but that doesn't mean I don't genuinely love the process of making too! I just love to explore. To learn from others and build those connections.

I've been posting work on the internet for over a decade now, not that I'd be linking my sixth grade instagram to any professional portfolios mind you. Typically I post on different social media platforms; this is my first time ever actually making my own website to host my artwork. I actually only really learned about Net Art through a Media Art class I'm currently taking (Shoutout to my professor Eileen! You've been a massive inspiration on my practice as an artist and person!!) and was enamored by the way people manipulate the internet to make art. For so long I've limited myself and been ashamed to post what I really want to make. I've felt embarassed, ashamed, and cringey. Which is some major bull! How dare I call myself an artist when I'm too afraid to take up space!! So here I am, taking up space.
